We will be careful not to speak about someone behind their back. If you need to tell something to someone say it nicely. Forgive each night and let it go.

“At the Jewish Girls Retreat our amazing kitchen staff Yael, Sharon and Toba baked 3 batches of Challah on a fast day. I helped shape them the way I taught Raizel and she perfected them. We each took a batch to say the bracha LHafrish challah and prayed. We felt Raizel’s energy with us. I wish we could show her that our kitchen is following her recipes and menu that she worked so hard to create. She was in tune with what girls like to eat. We miss you Raizel!”

My hachlata is to redevelop my relationship with my only brother. Life is fragile. Only Hashem knows how long we will be here. We never know when it will the last day and time we see someone. We never know when we speak to others if it will be our last message to them. I have a brother that I only speak to occasionally. Over the last month, due to Raizel and others leaving the world suddenly and at a young age, I realized I need to make more of an effort to reach to my brother. There were some things that occurred, but they are no longer relivent as life has gone on. I will be reaching out to my brother with hopes to reconnect in a meaningful way.

“Raizel always had special caring words for us, her Bubby and Zaidy. And knowing her Zaidy’s likes and dislikes for food, she went the extra mile to prepare something for him, even when it was not the way she so deliciously prepared for others. He wanted it plain and that’s what she did! Her special smile of welcome whenever we met is imprinted in our memory forever.”

My name is Rayzel, and August 21 of 2025 I was in a car accident where my injuries were described by doctors as not compatible with life. I broke my spine, both legs, ankles, arms, ribs, etc etc. BH I survived, I’m walking, living on my own again and caring for my son, and slowly returning to full observance (I’m a BT). I still have a ways to go for a full recovery but I’m getting there. I haven’t been able to keep Shabbat, with the exception of one Shabbat at a friends house, since the accident and getting adjusted to this new body and life. This Shabbat coming up (6/19) I committed to returning to fully observing Shabbat with my son, and I’d like to dedicate to my return to the mitzvah of keeping Shabbat to your Raizel. I’ll be thinking of her and your family when I light candles Friday night.

I have the opportunity to plant flowers today. I will plant them in Raizel’s memory. I know everyone says she put such beautiful light into the world. Flowers need that light to grow. I plan to plant them on our front walk so we see them and remember her as we come into our home.
